Removal and installation steering column covers (BMW 7 Series E38)
Upper casing
1. Set the steering column to its maximum lowered and extended position.

2. Remove the screw.
Replace the expansion nut during installation.

3. Press on the top cover from both sides at the hatched points and pull it up.

4. Release the casing from the clips and remove it.

5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Insert the hooks (1) into the grooves (2).

6. The bracket (1) should snap into place on the hook (2).
Lower casing

1. Remove the screws.
2. Press the top casing on both sides at the places marked on illustrations hatching, and remove the lower casing by pulling it down.
3. If necessary, release the leather cover from the casing clamps.
4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Bracket (1 per illustrations) should snap into place on the hook (2).
