2. Remove the steering wheel (see section Removal and installation the steering wheel, airbag unit and its contact ring).
3. Remove the lower section of the instrument panel trim (see chapter Body).

4. Remove the ring with the groove (1).
When installing, pay attention to the position of the ring (1) in relation to the spring retaining ring (2).
5. Remove the upper steering column cover (see section Removal and installation steering column covers).

6. If equipped, disconnect the Interlock system rod from the ignition switch.

7. Loosen the clamp bolt and press the steering shaft downwards.
Replace the self-locking nut when installing.

8. If necessary, remove the steering angle sensor from the steering shaft.

9. Chisel off the disposable screw or cut off its head.
When installing, install the spacer sleeve and tighten the disposable screw until it breaks off at the neck.

10. Disconnect all wires leading to the steering column, remove the screw and disconnect the ignition switch connector.
11. On models with automatic adjustment, unscrew the bolts (3).

6 - Self-locking nut (subject to replacement, 8 Nm)

12. Unscrew the mounting bolts of the support pipe and remove the steering column.
13. Installation is carried out in reverse order. After installation:
- Match the steering angle for EDC and DSC systems to the actual angle.
- Check the steering column for freedom of movement throughout its entire adjustment range in relation to adjacent components/pipes.
