2. Turn out two bolts.
Do not pinch cables during installation.
Models up to 03.1999 issue.
1. Disconnect the electrical wiring connector of the squib (1), horn switch (2) and steering wheel controls (3). Remove the airbag assembly and lay its side face up.
2. Set steering wheel to straight ahead (the marks on the steering gear housing and on the steering shaft must match).
3. Turn out a bolt, note position of a steering wheel concerning a steering shaft and remove a steering wheel.
When the bolt is turned out, the retaining spring is activated (F), which holds the slip ring in the neutral position, therefore, in order to maintain the function of the slip ring, it is not allowed to turn the steering wheel until the bolt is tightened.
4. Installation of a steering wheel is made upside-down. locking pin (1) must enter the nest (2).
5. Adjust slip ring if necessary. To do this, press the spring (F on illustrations), determine the neutral position of the slip ring by halving its full turn around the axis and release the spring. Pay attention to label matching (1).
Models since 03.1999 issue.
1. Disconnect the connectors (1 and 2), remove the airbag unit and lay its side face up.
2. Set the steering wheel to the position corresponding to the rectilinear movement of the car.
3. Turn out a bolt and remove a steering wheel.
4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. The marks on the steering wheel and on the steering shaft must match. Locking pins (1) must enter the nest (2).
All models (slip ring replacement)
1. With the steering wheel removed, remove the cover and disconnect the wire going to ground.
2. Turn out screws and remove a contact ring.
Leash (1) can only be removed after the slip ring is attached to the steering wheel - squeeze both ends and remove the leash.
3. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
