Removal and installation the intercooler (BMW 7 Series E38)
If the installed boost air hoses are not degreased and are damp, this may cause the supercharger to fail. Do not allow the intercooler fins to be damaged.
1. Remove the engine cooling fan shroud (see chapter Engine cooling, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems).
2. Remove the front accessory protection panel.
Models with M57 engine

1. Loosen the clamps (1), remove the hose (2), disconnect the hose (3) and put it aside.

2. Press the clamps (1 and 2) on both sides and at the same time pull out the intercooler slightly.

3. Remove the intercooler (1) in the direction indicated by the arrows.

4. If necessary, replace the bracket. To do this, use a screwdriver to press the bracket (1) upwards and remove the bracket (2).
5. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
Models with M67 engine


1. Loosen the clamps (1 and 3) and disconnect the pressure hoses (2 and 4).
2. Follow the steps in the paragraphs 2 - 5.
