Removal and installation a vacuum pump (BMW 7 Series E38)

1. Remove the front section of the upper engine cover.

2. Disconnect the vacuum hose (1) from the vacuum pump, unscrew the bolts (2) and onto the vacuum pump.

The bolt threads are coated with sealant. When installing, use new bolts or apply Drei Bond 1209 sealant to the old bolts.

3. Replace the sealing ring (1) and apply a thin layer of lubricant to improve sliding. Align the vacuum pump driver (2) with the grooves on the camshaft sprocket.

4. Further installation is carried out in reverse order.
