Removal and installation the oil pump (BMW 7 Series E38)

1. Remove the oil pan (see section Removal and installation the upper section of the oil pan).

2. Install device No.11 6 460 (see fig. illustration).



3. Unscrew the bolt (1), remove the sprocket (2) from the pump shaft and remove it from the chain links.

When installing, make sure that the mark is positioned correctly "VORNE/FRONT" (FRONT) on the sprocket.

4. Unscrew the bolts (1) and remove the oil intake (3).

When installing, use a new gasket (2).

5. Unscrew the oil pump mounting bolts (4) and remove it.

6. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
