Front exhaust manifold (M54 engine) (BMW X3 E83)

Removal and installation the front exhaust manifold (m54 engine)



1. Fix the engine in the mounting position.

2. Remove the stiffening plate.

3. Completely remove the exhaust system.

4. Disconnect the ground wire from the body.

5. Remove the right bracket with the engine mount.

6. Remove the air blower.

Note: When removing and installing exhaust manifolds, there is a risk of damaging the lambda probes.


7. Remove the front adjustment probe.

8. Remove the protective cover of the injectors.

Note:
  • Correctly connect the test probes for cylinders 1-3 and 4-6 to the wiring harness connectors.
  • If necessary, make marks on the connectors.


9. Release the cable from the holder. Disconnect the connector.

10. Release the cable on the rear of the motor from the conduit.

11. Remove the control probe for cylinders 1-3.

12. Unscrew the nuts.

13. Remove the exhaust manifold (1).

Note:
  • During installation, it is necessary to clean the sealing surfaces and replace the seals.
  • Replace the nuts.


Tightening torque: 20 Nm.

14. Installation should be carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the above notes.
