Replacing the exhaust manifold (BMW X5 E53)

The exhaust manifold must be replaced in the following order: Remove the exhaust system and TC.

Unscrew the bolts along the line (1, Fig. 6.156) and remove the exhaust manifold.



When installing the exhaust manifold, clean all sealing surfaces, replace the nuts and all sealing gaskets. Tighten the new nuts (M8) securing the exhaust manifold from the middle to the edges with a torque of 20 N·m (2.0 kgf·m).

Install the removed components on the vehicle and check the exhaust system for leaks.
