Attention! To avoid burns, all work on replacing the exhaust pipe must be carried out on a cold engine.
Replacement of the neutralizer with the exhaust pipe (4, see Fig. 6.19) must be carried out in the following order.
Loosen the bolts and remove the auxiliary protection panel. Loosen the threaded connection of the exhaust system between the connecting pipe and the turbocharger (TC), between the connecting pipe (1) and the neutralizer (4). Remove the connecting pipe.
Remove the coupling (10) connecting the neutralizer and the exhaust pipe (10) with the rear mufflers (11, 12).
The installation of the neutralizer with the exhaust pipe (4) should be carried out in the reverse order, while the bolts connecting the TC and the branch pipe should be tightened to a torque of 42 N·m (4.2 kgf·m), and the branch pipe and the neutralizer to a torque of 30 N·m (3.0 kgf·m). Tighten the coupling bolts to a torque of.. N·m (.. kgf·m). The joint of the connection should be located in the center of the coupling. When installing the couplings, the heads of their bolts should be facing the bottom of the body, with the nuts down.
Replacing the neutralizer
Attention! All work on the exhaust system must be carried out only on a cold engine and a cold exhaust system.
Replacement of the neutralizer (without pipelines) the exhaust system must be carried out in the following order.
Remove the exhaust system assembly and measure the length "B" (fig. 6.160) pipe element of the new neutralizer (1) of the exhaust gas.
Transfer the obtained value of dimension "B" to the pipelines of the removed exhaust system (fig. 6.161), and mark these places with a marker or a metalworking scriber.
Cut off both exhaust pipes at the marked location between the old exhaust catalytic converter and both rear mufflers using a hacksaw or the "00.2.210" tool. Round off the sharp edges of the cuts with a file.
Remove the self-adhesive film completely from the openings of the new catalytic converter. Connect the new catalytic converter to both rear exhaust pipes using connecting sleeves. The joint of the connection must be located in the center of the sleeve.
Install the exhaust system so that it is at least 25 mm away from the body and at a sufficient distance from adjacent parts.
