Replacing drain pipes (BMW X5 E53)

Replacement of drain pipes and leaked fuel must be carried out in the following order. Remove the intake manifold and read information from the fault memory of the "DDE" system. Protect the generator from contamination with fuel. Prepare a rag and a container to collect spilled fuel.

Unlock and disconnect the shock absorbers from the fuel injection system injectors. Unscrew the clamp screws and remove the injector wiring harness branch.

Press in (move) clamp-fixator (1, Fig. 6.124) in the direction of the left arrow. Disconnect the connecting elements of the fuel return line (2) from all injectors by moving it upwards. If the O-ring is damaged, the entire fuel return line for this group of cylinders must be replaced.



Disconnect the pipeline (arrow, Fig. 6.125) cylinder groups from tee (T-shaped adapter) common return pipeline of the power supply system.

Attention! To avoid deformation of pressure pipelines, check the setting of the device "13.5.020".

Strictly observe the tightening torques of the union nuts of the pipelines. Check the presence of the injector sealing rings.

Assemble the engine and check the injection system for leaks.
