Checking the fuel supply pressure (BMW X5 E53)

            0

Attention!
  • Check the fuel supply pressure in the engine mode - idle.
  • Dispose of any leaking fuel.

The fuel supply pressure must be checked in the following order. Prepare the devices "13.5.222" and "13.5.270", protect the generator from contamination and connect the "DIS-tester".

Connect the devices "13.5.270" and "13.5.222" together (fig. 6.117) into a single assembly. Open the quick-acting valve (1) of the supply pipeline (2). Connect the pressure sensor (3) (up to 3.5 bar) to the device "13.5.222" and the corresponding output of the "DIS tester". Insert the device "13.5.270" between the pipes (1) and (2).

Connect the devices «13.5.270» and «13.5.222» together (fig. 6.117) into a single assembly. Open…

Start the engine, bring it to a stable idle mode and record the fuel supply pressure from the fuel pump to the high-pressure fuel pump, which should be within 3500–7000 mbar.

The engine restoration should be carried out in the reverse order, it is necessary to stop the engine, remove the assembly of devices and connect the hoses. To remove air from the fuel system, it is necessary to turn on the ignition for about 1 minute. During this time, the fuel pump is activated, and the fuel cooler is filled with fuel, displacing air from the system.
