To prevent the engine from starting during the test, disconnect the camshaft position sensor loop.
After disconnecting the pressure pipeline, it is obligatory to plug the openings of the HP and hydraulic accumulator with special plug caps.
fixture «13.5.455» can be used up to three times.
Checking the NVD must be carried out in the following order. Prepare fixtures «12.7.420, «13.5.450», «13.5.455», «13.5.456», «13.5.457» And «61.4.390» and remove the intake manifold. Disconnect the camshaft position sensor loop.
Loosen cap nut (1, fig. 6.115) and remove the pressure pipeline between the HP and the pressure accumulator, install the tool «13.5.450» to the output of the NVD. Disconnect valve AL (3) rail pressure control. Install fixtures «13.5.456» And «13.5.457» between fixture «13.5.450» and engine wiring harness. Connect return line (4). Tighten the union nut on the low pressure hose with a torque of 23.0 Nm (2.3 kgf·m).
The further process of checking the NVD is described in the section «Low Pressure Common Rail Troubleshooting - Engine Won't Start». Using an earlier version than «V42» not allowed. You need to reprogram according to the manual «DIS tester».
Assemble the engine, install the pressure pipe and tighten the union nuts on the hydraulic accumulator and HPP to a torque of 23 Nm (2.3 kgf·m). Start the engine and take readings. The minimum pressure created by the HP at the starter speed must be more than 250 bar (250 kgf/cm2). Remove tools and assemble engine. Check the fuel supply system for leaks.
