Attention: Contaminated (for example, oil, cleaning agent) slave disks are always subject to replacement.
Note: The steps below describe how to install the old clutch basket and the old driven disc.
Note:
- When installing, it is necessary to replace the screws.
- Strictly observe the tightening torque and angle.

5. Insert tool 212180 into the clutch.
6. Squeeze the 212180 tool by the handles (1) until it stops and tighten the bolts (2).
Note: The clutch adjusting ring is now locked in its original position.

Note: The locking hooks (1) in tool 212180 must fit into the spring sockets.

7. Install tool 212170 and tighten the knurled head screw (1).
8. Screw in the lead screw (2) until the diaphragm spring (3) is fully compressed.
Note: Insert tool 212170 only in the locations of the holes for the centering pins.

9. Center the driven disk (1) using the tool in the dual mass flywheel.
Attention:
- Install the driven clutch disc, paying attention to the correct position.
- Pay attention to the markings "Motorselte" (engine side)/"Getriebeseite" (gearbox side).
- The driven clutch disc requires careful handling.
- Do not touch the surfaces of the friction linings.

10. Install the clutch basket (1) on the flywheel.
Tightening torque:
- M8: 25 Nm.
- M10: 34 Nm.
Note: The clutch (1) must be secured using the centering pins (2).

11. Unscrew the lead screw (1) until the compression force is completely removed from the diaphragm spring. Remove tools 212170 and 212180.

12. Remove the device from the clutch driven disc using the supplied screw (1).
Note: The steps below describe how to install the old clutch basket and the new driven disc.
Note:
- When installing, it is necessary to replace the screws.
- Strictly observe the tightening torque and angle.
Caution: Before installing a used clutch and a new driven disc, the adjusting ring must be returned to its original position.

13. Place the clutch on a clean support.
14. Insert tool 212180 into the clutch (1).

Note: The locking hooks (1) on tool 212180 must fit into the clutch sockets.

15. Install tool 212170 and tighten the knurled head screw (1).
Note: Insert tool 212170 only in the locations of the holes for the centering pins.

16. Screw in the lead screw (1) until the clutch adjusting ring (2) starts to rotate together with the 212180 tool by the handles (3).
17. Squeeze the 212180 device by the handles (3) until it stops and hold it in this position.
18. Tighten the knurled head screws (2).
Note: The clutch adjusting ring is now locked in the position it is in on the new part.
19. Screw in the lead screw (1) until the diaphragm spring is fully compressed.

20. Center the driven disc (1) of the clutch using the tool.
Attention:
- Install the driven clutch disc, paying attention to the correct position.
- Pay attention to the markings "Motorseite" (engine side)/"Getriebeseite" (gearbox side).
- The driven clutch disc requires careful handling.
- Do not touch the surfaces of the friction linings.

21. Install the clutch basket (1) on the flywheel.
Tightening torque:
- M8: 25 Nm.
- M10: 34 Nm.
Note: The clutch (1) must be secured using the centering pins (2).

22. Unscrew the lead screw (1) until the compression force is completely removed from the diaphragm spring (2). Remove tools 212170 and 212180.

23. Remove the device from the clutch driven disc using the supplied screw (1).
Note: The steps for installing a new clutch are described below.
Caution: The retainer can only be removed after the clutch mounting bolts have been tightened.
Note:
- When installing, it is necessary to replace the screws.
- Strictly observe the tightening torque and angle.
