The brake pedal is mounted on a single pedal bracket (fig.11.79), the design of the pedal drive is shown in Figure 11.80.
Replacement of a pedal of a brake is necessary for carrying out in a following order. Disconnect «–» terminal from AB. Unscrew the fastening screws and remove the left lower panel of the interior instrument panel in the area of the driver's feet. Remove the pedal cover. If necessary, remove reinforcement plate and switch module.
Under the panel, carefully lift the tabs of the spring clips (4) and remove the brackets. Disconnect the end of the return spring (6) from the lever (1) brake pedals. Remove finger (5) and disconnect the vacuum booster rod from the brake pedal. Remove brake pedal from bracket (9).
Inspect all components of the pedal assembly for damage and wear, pay special attention to the bushings (3) hinge. Parts should be replaced as needed.
The installation of the brake pedal should be carried out in the reverse order, while it is necessary to apply a small amount of universal grease such as «Ranocal FN-745» or «Glissando VW-745» on bushings (3) hinge and hole. Connect the battery, adjust the brake light switch and make a test drive at medium speed with periodic braking.
