Fuel Supply System — Design Description (BMW X5 E53)

The fuel supply system of the M62 engine is identical m54 engine system and is designed to supply such a quantity of fuel to the combustion chamber that ensures complete combustion of the fuel, a given power mode, an acceptable level of exhaust gas toxicity and consists of the following elements:

• fuel tank with fuel level sensor and electric fuel pump;
• piping systems with filter;
• fuel injection systems;
• fuel vapor recovery systems.

The fuel supply pressure at a voltage of 12 V at the battery terminals is 4.0 kgf/cm².

The performance at a voltage of 12 V at the battery terminals is 2.06 l/min.

Current consumption at a voltage of 12 V at the battery terminals is no more than 9.5 A.
