Solex DIDTA 32/32 Solenoid Shut-off Valve (BMW 3 Series E21)

Checking the valve operation



Run the engine at idle speed and disconnect the power wire from the valve. The engine should stop and a slight click should be heard when the power wire is connected to the valve.

Removal and installation the valve



Unscrew the valve from the carburetor socket, having first disconnected the power wire from it.

When installing the valve, make sure that there are no marks on the sealing cone.

Fast Idle Speed Adjustment



Disconnect the vacuum advance regulator hoses from the carburetor.

By acting on the throttle actuator, achieve the opening of the throttle valve of this chamber and the opening of the air valve by 3 mm (on "316") or by 3.2 mm (on "318", "320"), use a drill to check the gap.

Start the engine. The engine crankshaft speed should be within 1900-2000 rpm.

If there is any deviation from the norm, adjust the fast idle speed with adjusting nuts 1.
