Carburetor Starting Gap Adjustment
On the removed carburetor, by pressing the control lever 6, open the throttle valve of the 1st chamber and completely close the air damper installed in the cover 52 of the carburetor.
Close the throttle valve of the 1st chamber and release the air damper, thereby bringing the starting device into working condition. The air damper is slightly ajar and sector 11, which rests on the control lever 6 of the throttle valve of the 1st chamber, slightly opens the throttle valve of the 1st chamber by means of a rod 42. check starting gaps (opening) air damper and throttle damper of the 1st chamber, which should be within 3.2±0.15 mm and 0.8±0.05 mm, respectively.
If abnormal, set the proper clearances by changing the length of the tie rod 42 by turning the nut on the end that attaches it to the arm D.
Adjusting the fuel supply by the accelerator pump
Remove the carburetor.
Fill the carburetor float chamber with fuel through the vent hole and place a beaker with a funnel under the carburetor.
By pressing the throttle control lever of the 1st chamber about 10 times, actuate the accelerator pump, while the fuel supply by the pump in one cycle should be 0.9 + 0.1 cm3.
If necessary, adjust the fuel supply by the accelerator pump by turning the nut on the end of the control rod or (depending on modification) by moving the pump drive cam lever, having previously unscrewed the lower screw of the lever.
Throttle opening adjustment of the 2nd chamber
The throttle valve of the 2nd chamber should open slightly by 0.05 mm. Adjustment is made by turning the adjusting screw 1.
Rough adjustment of engine idle
Coarse adjustment of the engine idle speed is made only if it is impossible to correctly adjust the idle speed and the content of carbon monoxide (SO) in exhaust gases.
Tighten the idle speed adjusting screw 1.
Using the throttle valve adjusting screw of the 1st chamber 3, set the engine crankshaft speed within 700-750 rpm.
Adjusting screw quality (composition) mixture, after removing the plug, achieve a CO content in the exhaust gases of about 2%.
Repeat the above operations until the correct idle speed is set at 2% CO in the exhaust gases.
Engine idle adjustment
Set the idle speed adjusting screw 1 to the nominal speed of the engine crankshaft (see subsection «Detailed Specifications»).
Adjusting screw quality (composition) mixture 2 achieve the specified CO content in the exhaust gases (see subsection «Detailed Specifications»).
Repeat the above operations until the engine idle and the CO content in the exhaust gases are correct.
After completing the adjustment, install a hole for the quality adjustment screw (composition) mix a new plug.
If the carburetor does not have an idle adjustment screw, the engine idle adjustment is made with the throttle valve adjustment screw 3.
