Remove the upper bolts securing the gearbox housing to the engine block.
Remove the bolt securing the oil filler tube bracket to the gearbox housing.
Drain the gearbox oil.
Remove the muffler intake pipe mounting bracket.
Disconnect the muffler intake pipe from the exhaust manifold.
Disconnect the propeller shaft from the gearbox.
Detach flexible shaft drive speedometer» and remove it from the bracket on the gearbox oil pan.
Unscrew the bolts securing the cross member of the intermediate support of the cardan shaft to the body.
Lower the front propeller shaft and disconnect the gear selection linkage from the gear selection lever.
Remove the oil filler tube and disconnect the pipes going to the oil cooler.
Remove the protective shield installed between the engine block and the gearbox housing.
Loosen the four bolts securing the torque converter to the drive flange one by one, each time turning the engine crankshaft by the pulley.
Place a support under the gearbox and disconnect the gearbox from the body cross member.
Loosen the remaining bolts securing the gearbox housing to the engine block.
Remove the ventilation grille from the gearbox housing.
Disconnect the transmission case and engine block with a screwdriver, moving the torque converter back.
Remove the gearbox.
Removing the torque converter
Carefully remove the torque converter using mounting handles 244000.
Removing the drive disc
Lock the ring gear.
Remove the drive disc by unscrewing the mounting bolts.
Installing the drive
Replace the drive disk.
Tighten the new drive plate mounting bolts by applying Loctite 270 to the threads.
Torque Converter Installation
Carefully insert the torque converter into the crankcase and install the torque converter by rocking it slightly. Use mounting handles 244000 for this operation.
