Steering gear, covers and tie rods
1 — steering draft right
2 — steering draft left
3 - nut M12, 65 Nm. Self-locking, be sure to replace
4 - a set of covers for the steering mechanism, right
5 - steering mechanism
6 — a set of covers of the steering mechanism left
7 - tie rod end
8 - clamping ring
9 - clamping nut, 80 Nm
10 - clamp, Ø50 - 53 mm
11 - support ring. It is inserted into the narrowing of the tie rod next to the hex nut. Before installing the tie rod, lubricate it with grease at the narrowing so that when the rod is turned, the boot does not rotate together.
12 - case
13 - clamp, Ø65–68 mm
Withdrawal
1. Mark with paint the position of the front wheel relative to the hub. This will allow the balanced wheel to return to its original position. Loosen the wheel bolts with the vehicle on the ground. Raise the front of the car and remove the wheel.
2. Measure the dimension -A- between the pivot and the end of the tie rod thread
-5- and write down the resulting value.
3. Loosen the clamping nut -1- of the tie rod end -2-, refer to Section The angles of the front wheels. Wheel alignment check.
4. Turn away a fastening nut -3- of the hinge of steering draft -4-. 2 – a tip of steering draft.
5. Remove the tie rod end using tool HAZET779 -1.
6. Unscrew the tip from the steering rod, while holding the rod with a wrench for the hexagon -5- from turning.
When unscrewing, count the number of revolutions and write down the resulting value. This will facilitate further adjustment of the front wheels.
Installation
7. Establish on steering draft a clamping ring if it acted in film.
8. Screw on the tie rod end, the number of revolutions must be equal to the number of revolutions during removal. Check dimension -A- obtained before removal.
9. If it is necessary, clear from greasing a pin of the hinge of steering draught, and also a hole in a rotary fist.
10. Insert the tie rod end, as well as the hole in the steering knuckle. Screw a new self-locking nut onto the hinge pin and tighten it to 65 Nm.
11. Tighten the tie rod end clamping nut to 80 Nm. At the same time, keep the rod from turning by the hexagon.
12. Reinstall the wheel so that the marks made during removal match. Lubricate the seat of the wheel disk on the hub with a thin layer of bearing grease. Do not grease wheel bolts. Replace rusty bolts with new ones. Fasten the wheel with bolts. Lower the vehicle onto the wheels and tighten the bolts crosswise to 100 Nm.
13. Check the track at the service station, adjust if necessary.
