Note 1: Models with a 5-speed transmission that do not have a fluid dipstick should have the fluid changed at a specialized service station (because special equipment is required to check the fluid level).
Note 2: You will need a new O-ring for the drain plug when installing.
1. Warm fluid to operating temperature before draining. To do this, you need to travel a distance of at least 30 km.
2. Immediately after driving, park the vehicle on level ground and apply the parking brake, if necessary (for easier access) raise the car and put it on stands (cm. "Lifting and placing the car on supports"). Keep in mind that the car must be in a horizontal position.
3. Under the vehicle, loosen the tightening and unscrew the fluid drain plug approximately half a turn (Figure 9.3, a, b). Place a container under the cork and remove the cork. If possible, try to press down on the cork until it is completely removed.
After unscrewing the cork, remove it sharply so that the oil flows into the container, and not into your sleeve.
4. Remove the o-ring from the plug.
5. Put a new ring on the plug, screw in the plug and tighten it to the required torque.
6 In accordance with the recommendations in paragraph 8, fill with the recommended type of fluid (cm. "Lubricants and fluids") through the filler hole or into the screw hole.
7. Check fluid level (see paragraph 8). Keep in mind that the fluid is not heated to operating temperature.
8. Apply the parking brake, set the selector to the position "R", start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes. Then check the fluid level again (see paragraph). Keep in mind that some of the fluid may need to be removed from the transmission.
