Note. The fastening pins of the shift forks of I and II, III and IV gears are not completely knocked out. Slide them in so that they fit between the teeth of the synchronizer clutch hub (see photo) against the stop in the blocking rings of the synchronizers.
On the rear cover of the gearbox housing, remove the plugs from the holes for the gear selector rod and reverse light switch, and remove the plug from the center hole of the rear cover, then remove the shift fork rods in the following order:
- move the shift rod of III and IV gears with a fork;
- turn the leash on the gear selection rod and remove the rod together with the leash;
- turn the stem of the shift fork of III and IV gears and remove it together with the fork;
- remove the stem and shift fork of I and II gears;
- remove the reverse gear and fork.
Loosen the gearbox output flange nut using wrench 6039, centering sleeve 607 and a 30 mm socket.
Press the flange, remove the output shaft rear bearing cap and remove the shim.
Remove the rear bearing from the output shaft.
Remove the input, output and intermediate shafts at the same time, then remove the axle with the reverse idler gear.
Remove the three shift rod retainer balls and the two lock balls and their springs (all balls and springs are the same).
Check the condition of the selector rod retainer.
