Checking the signal in the secondary circuit of the static ignition distribution system (BMW X5 E53)

To check the signal in the secondary target of the static ignition distribution system, it is necessary to prepare the device "12.7.030". Remove the ignition coil. Connect the device "12.7.030" (Fig. 3.51) to the measured ignition coil and spark plug.



Clamp the high-voltage current measurement terminal on the high-voltage wire. Clamp the adapter ground wire to the vehicle ground and ignition coil ground. Connect the diagnostic connector (arrow). Record the static signal on the oscilloscope screen (Fig. 3.52) by pressing the "R" key.



If there is no signal, further troubleshooting should be carried out in accordance with the DIS system electrical equipment diagnostics manual.
