Left/right turn signals
They light up periodically when the turn signal is turned on.
High beam
Lights up when the high beam is on or the high beam signal is on.
Trailer direction indicator
Flashes simultaneously with the direction indicator if the vehicle is towing a trailer.
Wear of brake pad linings
Lights up when the starter is turned on and goes out after the engine starts.
Lights up while driving - replace brake pads as soon as possible.
Use only genuine brake pads approved by BMW.
Parking brake
Goes out after the engine starts. Comes on when the parking brake is applied.
Hydraulic brake system drive
Goes out after engine start.
Lights up while driving - low brake fluid level.
Anti-lock braking system (ABS)
Goes out after the engine starts.
Lights up while driving - the ABS system is disabled due to a malfunction. Normal braking is fully ensured.
Please fasten your seat belts
A combination with an audible signal or indication on the control and signal display is possible.
Lights up when the ignition is turned on and then goes out (sometimes it goes out only after fastening the seat belts, depending on the version).
Oil pressure in the engine lubrication system
Goes out after the engine is started. Flashing is allowed at idle when the engine is warm, but should go out when the engine speed increases. Comes on while driving, the indicator appears on the control and signal display "Oildruk Motor" - ("Engine oil pressure"). Stop immediately and switch off the engine. Check the oil level, top up if necessary. If the oil level is OK, contact your BMW service for advice.

The control lamp is on
The system is defective, but the car can be used normally even without the anti-lock effect. For repairs, contact the BMW service.
Minor, temporary faults are eliminated by the control system when the engine is restarted.
Battery charge
Goes out after starting the engine. Comes on while driving - defective V-belt of the generator drive or fault in the charging circuit. The battery is no longer charged.
If the V-belt is defective, the water pump will stop working, resulting in the risk of overheating and engine damage.
Contact BMW service. In addition, if the V-belt is defective, it is necessary to apply more force when turning the steering wheel.
