Withdrawal
Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.
Attention: When the battery is disconnected, the information in the electronic memory devices, such as the engine trouble memory or the radio security code memory, is erased. When disconnecting the battery, follow the instructions in section "Removing and installing the battery".
Remove the cover from the high voltage distributor. To do this, use a screwdriver to pry the straps from above and below and move the casing to the side.
Disconnect the ignition wires from the distributor.
Unscrew the distributor cap.
Unscrew the slider with a 3 mm bent rod wrench.
Remove cover.
Examination
Check runner resistance. Set value: 0.7-1.3 kΩ.
Check the absence of cracks and traces of burnout on the casting mass of the distributor slider, if necessary, replace the slider.
The inside of the lid must be dry.
Check contacts for wear and corrosion, replace if necessary.
Check the central carbon contact for ease of movement and wear. To do this, press the contact with your finger.
Check the distributor cap for leakage currents. Leakage currents show up as thin, chaotic marks on the surface of the distributor cap.
Wipe the distributor cap with a clean dry cloth and check for cracks, replace the distributor cap if necessary. Then spray the inside of the cover with contact spray.
Installation
Put the slider and tighten slightly, with a torque of 3 nm.
Install and secure the distributor cap.
Attention: The numbering of wires and connection pins must correspond to: ZS = ignition coil.
Insert distributor cover.
Connect ground wire to battery.
