To gain access to the relay and fuse box, remove the fine air filter housing in the engine compartment on the right rear.
Loosen the fastener and remove the fuse box cover.
Remove relay -1- for glow plugs. 2 - control unit of the DDE system.
Check the 80 amp plate fuse next to the plug connector; if a fault is found, replace the fuse. Preliminarily establish and eliminate the cause of the overload.
Unscrew the fastening of the thick positive wire from the relay housing.
The figure shows the wiring diagram for the glow plug relay. The corresponding plug arrangement is stamped on the cover of the glow plug relay.
G1...G6: glow plugs 1...6;
KI. 15: plus, activated through the ignition and starter;
KI. 30: battery plus;
Ugt: control voltage (from the DME control unit);
Dia: diagnostic socket.
Connect the battery and connect a voltage tester to terminal 15 of the plug and ground. Turn on the ignition. In this case, the LED of the semiconductor device should light up, otherwise check the voltage supply from the ignition switch.
If the LED of the voltage tester lights up, check the lead wire of the glow plugs and replace if necessary. Otherwise, replace the glow plug relay.
Replace the control box cover.
Close the electronics box. Install cleaning filter air supplied to the cabin.
