Withdrawal
Test prerequisite: battery voltage must be greater than 9 volts. Charge the battery if necessary.
Attention. If the glow plugs are malfunctioning, the fuses located behind the glove box must be checked.
Examination
Read the contents of the DDE fault code memory. Check received messages, troubleshoot and erase the contents of the drive.
Switch off the ignition.
Remove case fine air filter.
Release screws -1-.
Remove cover -2- from electronics box.
Disconnect plug -1- at relay -2- for glow plugs.
Location of pins on the wiring harness plug:
- Glow plug pin winding for cylinder 1 = slot 9 - black / green
- Glow plug winding for cylinder 2 = slot 8 - black / purple
- Glow plug winding for cylinder 3 = slot 7 - black / yellow.
- Glow plug winding for cylinder 4 = slot 3 - black / red.
- Glow plug winding for cylinder 5 = slot 2 - black / white.
- Glow plug winding for cylinder 6 = slot 1 - black / brown.
Caution: Do not turn on the glow plugs when they are removed. In this case, sufficient heat removal from the glow plugs is not ensured. There is a risk of injury and fire!
Connect an ammeter between the battery positive terminal and the wiring harness plug socket, refer to the location of the pins on the wiring harness plug.
Turn on the ignition and measure the current.
Prescribed value: after the glow plug has been operated at a battery voltage of 11±0.5 volts for approximately 30 seconds, the current through the glow plug should be 10 amps.
If necessary, after cooling, remove the glow plug and measure its resistance. Prescribed value: 0.5-2.0 Ω.
Attention: If during the test a defective glow plug is found, then it is imperative to check:
- wire from the relay to the glow plug;
- glow plug connector;
- the work of turnip glow plugs;
- 100 amp fuse.
