The first signs of injector malfunction are detected by the following signs:
- Flash interruptions.
- Knocking in one or more cylinders.
- Engine overheating.
- Loss of power and high fuel consumption by the engine.
- Excessively strong black smoke from the exhaust.
Withdrawal
Remove intake manifold.
Clean the high pressure fuel lines with a cleaning agent.
Remove the high-pressure fuel lines as a whole set, for which loosen the union nuts with an open ring spanner -1-, for example, HAZET 4550.
Attention: Do not change the shape of the bends. To prevent the penetration of dirt, put on suitable protective caps on the injector nozzles and high pressure pumps.
If the retaining clips of the high-pressure fuel lines are removed, their installation position must first be marked with a felt-tip pen.
Carefully remove the fuel lines from the injectors to drain the leaked fuel.
Remove the injectors using a socket wrench SW 27, eg HAZET 4555-1. Close nozzle nozzles with protective caps to prevent dirt from penetrating.
Attention: Make sure that the nozzles do not fall when removing them. In addition, at the nozzle of cylinder 4, it is necessary to disconnect the wire going to the built-in needle lift sensor. During subsequent assembly, install all nozzles in their original places.
Remove the heat shield seal from the injector holes.
Installation
Be sure to install new heat-shielding gaskets between the cylinder head and injectors. The recess in the gasket must point upwards, with the arrow pointing towards the cylinder head.
Tighten injectors to 40 Nm.
Tighten union nuts for high-pressure pipes to 20 Nm.
Install fuel lines to drain leaking fuel.
Connect the wire going to the built-in needle lift sensor of the injector 4.
If removed, replace retaining clips for high pressure fuel lines according to previously marked marks.
Install the vacuum line for the brake booster in the holder on the cylinder head.
Install intake manifold.
Start the engine and check the power system for leaks.
