Removal and installation of exhaust manifolds (BMW 7 Series E38)
1. Remove the crankcase guard.
2. Remove any interfering components from the exhaust system (see chapter Fuel and exhaust systems).
3. Remove the left heat shield.
1. Loosen the nuts on the left engine mount by about 8 mm.
2. Remove the top engine cover.
3. Using a special lifting device, raise the engine by the front lifting eye approximately 6÷8 mm.
4. Unscrew the mounting bolts of both exhaust manifolds and remove first the front one, and then the rear manifold in a downward direction.
5. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Use new gaskets and nuts; lubricate the threads of the studs with copper paste "CRC".
