2. Lock the crankshaft with tool 116480 in the position of the piston of the first cylinder at TDC at the end of the compression stroke.
Attention:
- Do not allow the engine crankshaft to turn in the opposite direction.
- Before starting the engine, tool 116480 must be removed.

3. Remove the protective cap on the timing belt cover.
4. Lock the crankshaft using tool 115320 in the position of the piston of the 1st cylinder at TDC at the end of the compression stroke.

Note: The registration numbers must be visible on the top of the exhaust and intake camshafts (Ei A).

Note:
- The camshaft cams (E) of the intake valves of the 1st cylinder should be facing upward at an angle.
- The camshaft lobes (A) of the exhaust valves must be angled outward to the left.

Note: The marking on the exhaust camshaft sprocket (A) must match the marking on the exhaust camshaft sprocket (A).
Note: If the markings do not match, the exhaust camshaft must be removed.

5. Loosen all bearing cap mounting bolts from A1 to A5, starting from the outer ones and moving towards the center.
Tightening torque: 10 Nm.
6. Remove the exhaust camshaft by moving it upwards.
7. Place all parts in order on fixture 114480.

8. Remove the chain tensioner (1). Tightening torque: 70 Nm.

9. Loosen the bolts (1) securing the camshaft and remove the camshaft sprocket.
Tightening torque: 15 Nm.

10. Set the intake camshaft (E) to the desired position.
Note: When installing, pay attention to the installation position of the roller tappet levers.
11. Position the exhaust camshaft (A) so that both markings match.

12. Tighten all bearing cap fastening elements A1 to A5 from the edges to the middle.
Tightening torque: 10 Nm.

13. Place the camshaft sprocket with the drive chain on the intake camshaft so that the bolts (1) are located in the center of the longitudinal holes.
14. Insert screws (1).
15. Tighten the bolts (1) to 10 Nm.
16. Loosen the bolts (1) again by 90°.

17. Insert the chain tensioner (1).
Tightening torque: 70 Nm.

18. Install tool 118760 on the exhaust camshaft.
Note: Tool 116760 must fit flush against the cylinder head.

19. Tighten the bolts (1).
Tightening torque: 15 Nm.

20. Turn the engine using tool 116480 two turns in the direction of rotation until the piston of the 1st cylinder is at the TDC end of the compression stroke.
21. Check the camshaft adjustment.
Caution: Do not allow the engine to turn in the opposite direction.
22. Assemble the engine.
23. Turn the engine two revolutions.
24. Check the valve timing.
Caution: Tool 115320 must be removed before starting the engine.
