To eliminate minor defects, proceed as follows: Remove the old paint coating from the damaged area and prepare the surface for painting as described above.
Cover the surface, cleaned to a metallic shine, with a scratch grid, which will ensure maximum adhesion of the putty and the surface being treated.
Prepare the putty depending on the maximum depth of damage:
- polyester putty brand "PE-0089" is used if the depth of damage does not exceed 2.5 mm. Before use, the mass must be mixed with a hardener (100:2.0) and applied with a spatula to a surface cleaned to a metallic shine and degreased;
- epoxy glue based on diane resin type "ED-20" is used if the depth of damage does not exceed 4 mm;
- eP-0020 epoxy putty is used if the damage depth does not exceed 7 mm. Before use, the mass must be mixed with a hardener (100:8.5), then applied with a spatula to a surface cleaned to a metallic shine and degreased.
Apply several thin layers of putty until the surface takes on a shape close to the original with a slight protrusion above it.
Allow the putty to harden to the point where it can be pressed through with a fingernail.
Proceed to prepare the surface for restoration of the paintwork as described above.
The highest quality of repair work is achieved by using polyester putties.
