Injectors are checked using special equipment (service station work).
The first signs of malfunctions in the operation of the injectors appear as follows:
- misfiring
- knocking in one or more cylinders
- engine overheating
- engine power reduction
- excessively strong black exhaust
- increased fuel consumption
Withdrawal
Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.
Attention: When the battery is disconnected, the information in the electronic memory devices, such as the engine trouble memory or the radio security code memory, is erased. Disconnect the battery only when the ignition is switched off, so as not to damage the fuel injection system control unit. When disconnecting the battery, follow the instructions in sections "Radio" And "Removing and installing the battery".
Remove the cover over the injectors by unscrewing the fastening bolts.
Thoroughly clean the injection pipes.
Disconnect the injection pipes in the kit, for which unscrew the union nuts with a wrench, for example HAZET 4550.
Attention: Do not change the bend of the tubes. Fit the appropriate protective caps to the injectors and high pressure fuel pump to prevent dirt from entering.
If the brackets for fastening the injection pipes are removed, first mark their mounting position with a felt-tip pen.
Carefully remove the fuel drain hoses from the injectors.
Remove the injector nozzles with a 27 mm wrench, for example HAZET 4555. To prevent dirt from entering, put protective caps on the lower parts of the nozzles.
Caution: Do not let the nozzles fall.
Take out the heat shield.
Installation
Be sure to install new heat shields between the cylinder head and injectors. The washer is installed with the recess upwards, the arrow points to the cylinder head.
Screw in the nozzle and tighten to 40 Nm.
Install injection pipes. Tighten union nuts to 20 Nm.
If removed, insert mounting brackets in accordance with the marking.
Connect fuel drain hoses.
Connect ground wire to battery.
Start the engine and check the tightness of the power supply system.
