Withdrawal
1. Raise the vehicle and place it on stands (cm. "Lifting and placing the car on supports"). Make sure the selector is in position "R".
2. Under the vehicle, loosen the nut securing the selector cable to the transmission lever (pic. 2.2).
3. Turn away a counternut of fastening of a cover of a cable and remove a cable from an arm.
4. In the car, remove the handle from the selector with a strong jerk.
Note. Do not turn the handle as this will break it.
5. Carefully remove the selector cover (with selector cover) from the center console. Note the location of the electrical wiring connectors located under the lining, and disconnect them.
6. Turn out two screws of fastening of facing located behind the selector (pic. 2.6). Remove the cover.
7. Remove the tray for small items located above the ashtray.
8. Turn out four screws and take out an ashtray/switch from the central console. Remove the switch and disconnect the electrical wiring connectors from it, remembering their location (pic. 2.8).
9. Loosen the locking cable clamp screw (pic. 2.9).
10. Disconnect from the selector the remained sockets of electroconducting, having remembered their arrangement.
11. Turn out three screws of fastening of the selector to a floor, lift the selector and disconnect a cable of blocking from it.
Installation
12. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal. Pay attention to the following points:
- A) Adjust the lock cable (see below).
- b) Before installing the selector lever, put a cover on the selector lever so that the retaining ring located on the selector lever is visible.
- V) After finishing work, adjust the selector cable (see paragraph 3).
