Coolant temperature gauge
The pointer scale has two colored zones.
blue zone: the engine is not warmed up, you can drive at low speed and at medium engine speeds.
red zone: Engine temperature is too high. The pointer needle can reach this zone and even stay there for some time at high ambient temperatures and when the engine is running under heavy loads. If the arrow lingers in this zone for a long time, then the reasons for this may be the following:
- insufficient coolant level: add liquid to the radiator, check the tightness of the radiator cap, cooling system hoses and radiator;
- loosening or wear of the fan drive belt;
- clogged radiator fins»;
- incorrect ignition timing;
- on model cars «520» with an automatic gearbox, check the operation of the additional electric fan.
At normal engine operating temperature, the pointer pointer is between these colored areas.
Cooling system
The coolant contains a long-acting antifreeze and an anti-corrosion additive. The fluid should be changed every two years. At the beginning of winter, check the antifreeze content. The percentage of antifreeze of each type is indicated by the manufacturer.
It is recommended, as when leaving the factory, to use a coolant with a freezing point of at least -25°C.
When replacing the coolant, it is recommended to check the tightness of the system hoses (check also every 15,000 km).
Warning. Periodically check the coolant level on a cold engine. Add cold water only on the deck motor.
