Adjusting the throttle valve servo of the 1st chamber (BMW 5 Series E12)

            0

Disconnect the connector from the intake air temperature sensor built into the intake manifold. Short-circuit the sensor terminals (in order to simulate a warm engine).

Turn on the ignition without starting the engine.

Attach the hose of the hand vacuum pump to the servo drive vacuum supply port "A". Create a vacuum of about 250 mbar, which must remain constant during the servo drive adjustment. In this case, the servo drive pusher is set in the position for servo drive adjustment.

In this position the template thickness is 6.84±0.05 mm (shown by the arrow in the photo) must pass freely between the stop screw 1 of the throttle valve and the stop 2. If necessary, insert a new idle stop screw 3 and, by turning it, ensure that the above condition is met. After adjustment, cut off the head of the idle stop screw.

Connect the connector to the inlet air temperature sensor and the vacuum supply hose to the servo drive.

Check engine idle speed and CO content in exhaust gases.
