The system allows you to remember and automatically maintain the required speed at a level of at least 30 km/h.
The system can be switched on after turning the ignition key to position 1 by pressing the button shown by the arrow. In this case, the control lamp on the instrument panel lights up.
Pressing the key again turns off the system.
1. Button for movement at a given speed, memorization and acceleration

Press the button.
The actual speed is entered into the system memory and maintained constant. Each subsequent press of the button will increase the speed by 1 km/h.
If you hold the button down, the car will accelerate without pressing the accelerator pedal. If you release the button, the speed reached at that moment will remain in the system memory and will be maintained constant.
2. Slow down button
Press the button.
If the vehicle was previously driving in the speed-maintaining mode, the speed will decrease by 1 km/h each time the button is pressed. If you hold the button down, the throttle opening will automatically decrease and the vehicle will slow down while driving in the speed-maintaining mode. If you release the button, the speed reached by that moment will remain in the system's memory and will be maintained constantly.
3. Call button
Press the button.
The last of the entered speed values will be called up, to which it will first be brought and then maintained constant.
4. Automatic shutdown button
Press the button.
The automatic speed control will switch off immediately.
In addition, the system will automatically turn off in the following cases:
- When braking, disengaging the clutch or when moving the AT control lever from position D to position N
For BMW 520i, 523i, 528i, 535i, 540i: if the set speed is exceeded for more than 30 s and by more than 16 km/h
For BMW 525tds: If the set speed is exceeded by more than 16 km/h or decreased by more than 20 km/h. When the ignition key is turned to position 0, the system is switched off and the entered speed value is erased.
You cannot use the automatic speed control if the road is full of turns or if the increased traffic intensity does not allow you to move evenly, as well as on slippery roads (due to snow, rain, ice) road or weak (gravel, forest) soil. Otherwise, your driving style will not correspond to the traffic situation.
