Caution: To check if the idle air control valve is working, put your hand on the valve. When the engine is running, the valve should vibrate due to the intermittent application of voltage.
Withdrawal
After loosening the clamp, pull the air supply hose from the throttle body.
Loosen the bolts and remove the throttle body.
Attention: cable «gas» and throttle body heating hoses remain connected.
Loosen the bolt and remove the dipstick guide tube from the holder.
Remove the two valve mounting bolts from the intake manifold and pull the valve down.
Pull off the idle speed adjustment plug by pressing the wire fastener. Pull off the o-ring and rubber bushing. After loosening the clamp, remove the hose.
Resistance measurement
Connect an ohmmeter to the valve terminals and measure the resistance.
Pins 1 and 3: 40±5 ohm; pins 2 and 1 or 2 and 3: 20±5 ohms.
Dynamic test Connect plug. Fully open or close the rotary valve piston by hand.
Turn on the ignition. The rotary piston should now occupy a position where it covers about 50% of the section and retains 80.
Installation
Slide the hose over the control valve and secure with a hose clamp. When installing, always replace the gasket, and for easy fitting of the O-ring, lubricate the valve body with petroleum jelly.
Insert the control valve and secure with screws. Install the oil dipstick tube.
Put the plug on the valve.
Install the throttle body.
Put on the air supply hose and secure it with clamps.
Interrogate the DME memory unit for fault codes. Clear codes after troubleshooting.
