Throttle body — removal and installation (BMW 7 Series E32)
The throttle body is made up of the ASC+T system body (automatic stability control and traction control system) and the main body.
Remove the plugs by squeezing the wire fasteners.
Close the ASC+T throttle lever to loosen the cable nipple. Remove the nipple from the segment.
Pull the crankcase ventilation hose off the air supply hose at the bottom.
Loosen the hose clamp on the air supply hose and pull the hose off.
Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the housing.
Unscrew the four bolts and remove the intermediate piece.
Close the throttle lever to relieve the throttle cable nipple. Remove the nipple from the segment. Pull the throttle cable housing out of the rubber support.
Remove the cooling system hoses used to heat the throttle body from the fittings, after loosening the clamps.
Unscrew the bolts and remove the housing with the gasket. Always replace the gasket.
Install the housing with a new gasket and secure it with bolts.
Install the cooling system hoses and secure them with clamps. Fill with coolant.
Attach the throttle cable and adjust it.
Install the intermediate part and the ASC+T throttle body and secure with bolts. Don't forget the gasket. Secure the air supply hose.
Attach the ASC+T system cable. In the initial position, the cable should have a play of 0.5 to 1.0 mm. If necessary, adjust it on the support.
Insert both connectors, which should click into place. Read out the fault codes from the DME memory. After troubleshooting, clear the diagnostic unit memory.
Removal

Loosen the hose clamp on the air supply hose and pull the hose off.
Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the housing.
Unscrew the four bolts and remove the intermediate piece.
Caution: If damaged, replace the gasket and lubricate it with petroleum jelly before installation.
Close the throttle lever to relieve the throttle cable nipple. Remove the nipple from the segment. Pull the throttle cable housing out of the rubber support.
Remove the cooling system hoses used to heat the throttle body from the fittings, after loosening the clamps.
Note: Some coolant will spill out, so place a container underneath.
Unscrew the bolts and remove the housing with the gasket. Always replace the gasket.

Installation
Install the housing with a new gasket and secure it with bolts.
Install the cooling system hoses and secure them with clamps. Fill with coolant.
Attach the throttle cable and adjust it.
Install the intermediate part and the ASC+T throttle body and secure with bolts. Don't forget the gasket. Secure the air supply hose.
Attach the ASC+T system cable. In the initial position, the cable should have a play of 0.5 to 1.0 mm. If necessary, adjust it on the support.
