The regulator is an actuator electric motor with a permanent magnet. A flap (6) is installed on the anchor shaft (4), which rotates. overcoming the force of the follow-up spring (7). When the throttle valve is closed, the air channel is blocked to a certain extent by the regulator flap, which ensures the required engine crankshaft rotation speed in idle mode.
The idle speed controller is controlled by commands from the ECU-KSUD, which determines the degree of opening of the rotary valve depending on the incoming information. At the same time, the ECU-KSUD changes the ignition timing accordingly. The idle speed value stored in the ECU-KSUD ROM is compared with the actual value and adjusted accordingly, which eliminates changes in the engine idle mode as a result of the inclusion of additional energy consumers (radio, air conditioning, lighting), and also as a result of mechanical wear of parts, lack of tightness or differences in friction resistance on various parts.
On vehicles with automatic transmission (AT), when the selector lever is placed in position 1, 2, 3, 4 or "D", the idle speed control increases the engine speed to compensate for the decrease in speed caused by the torque converter.
When starting a cold engine and during its warm-up, the idle speed controller functions as an additional air supply channel, ensuring that the idle speed is maintained within specified limits, regardless of the engine load.
