Intake manifold — removal and installation (BMW 7 Series E32)
The intake manifold must be removed to provide working space, for example before working on the injection system.
Remove the engine cover and boost pipe.
Disconnect the negative cable from the battery,
Remove the positive voltage supply point cover from the intake manifold. Remove the positive voltage supply point bolt and squeeze the two clamps. Disconnect the socket downwards.
Remove the intake manifold (2) from the cylinder head. To do this, pull the wire off the boost temperature sensor (3), pull the vacuum hose off the exhaust gas recirculation valve (5) and off the bottom of the intake manifold. Unscrew the intake manifold nuts (bolts) from the cylinder head and from the holder and remove it together with the gaskets (1). The exhaust gas recirculation valve with the gasket (4) does not need to be unscrewed.
Install the intake manifold with new gaskets and tighten its fasteners to a torque of 25 Nm. Install the oil filter housing support and the exhaust gas recirculation pipe on the intake manifold and tighten their fasteners to a torque of 25 Nm.
Insert the positive voltage point socket into the intake manifold and tighten it with the Allen key. Install the cover.
Install the engine covers and boost pipe.
Connect the negative battery cable.
