Remove the primary and secondary shafts.

Primary shaft bearing at the front of the crankcase: knock out the radial bearing with a tool.

Caution: When installing, ensure that the flange faces the clutch.

Replacing the intermediate shaft bearing:
  • Loosen the retaining ring with a punch.
  • Remove the retaining ring.
  • Remove the spacer washer.
  • Knock out the outer bearing race with a punch.

Bearing in the crankcase cover:
  • Loosen the bolt (1).
  • Watch the spring (2).

Watch the spring (2).

Remove the rocker shift lever.

Remove the Allen bolt.

Pull the shift lever up and watch the released rollers.

Installation instructions

Remove the retainer spring, insert the shift lever with the mounting device. Tilt the lever outward, bring the end of the spring to the installation position. In this position, press the lever down. Before removing the mounting device, secure the shift lever with an internal Allen bolt.

Remove the locking lever and bearing mounting plate.

Remove the gasket.

Knock out the radial bearing with a drift, taking into account the spacer washer.

Determining the size of the spacer washer:
  • Measure the seating depth in the crankcase using a depth gauge.
  • Measure the width of the bearing.
  • From the difference between the two dimensions, obtain the thickness of the spacer washer. The gap should be zero.

Installing the bearing in the crankcase cover:
  • Heat the cover in the bearing area to 80°C.
  • Install the spacer ring. Install the radial bearing.

Intermediate shaft bearing:
  • Insert the puller with the thick side into the bearing shell.
  • After putting on the sleeve, install the removal tool.
  • Press out the bearing race.

Caution: When installing: insert the bearing shell so that the slot in the shell matches the thickenings on the crankcase.

Drive in the bearing race. Check the intermediate shaft axial clearance.

Insert the retaining ring into the front of the crankcase.

Insert the required spacer washer.

Drive the bearing shell in with a punch. The oil groove should match the groove in the crankcase.

Insert the intermediate shaft with roller bearings into the crankcase cover. Insert the front part of the crankcase and secure with two bolts diagonally.

Center the front with the centering pin.

Remove the oil filler bolt.

Install the measuring instrument on the clutch side so that the instrument sensor can contact the intermediate shaft gear.

Move the intermediate shaft along the axis with a screwdriver through the oil drain hole and measure the clearance. It should be 0.13-0.23 mm. If there are deviations, use another spacer washer.

Install the gear set.

Determine the size of the input shaft spacer washer.

Install the required spacer washer and snap ring.

Set the gap to 0-0.09 mm.

Place a special key on the gearshift lever from below and turn it 90° counterclockwise. Then push the spherical cup upwards.

Remove the rubber boot from the body and console and lift it up along with the gearshift lever. If present, unscrew the vibration damper clip (counterweight) on the gear shift lever and remove it.

Installation

Lubricate the spherical cup of the gear shift lever with grease.

Insert the gear shift lever with the spherical cup so that the protrusion or arrow on the spherical cup is directed towards the support journal, i.e. opposite to the direction of travel.
