Removal, installation/replacement of the high-pressure pump (M47T2)
Attention:
- When working with oil, fuel and coolant circuits, the generator must be protected from contamination.
- Cover the generator.
- Failure to comply with this condition may result in generator failure.
Attention:
- After disconnecting the distribution pipeline, be sure to seal the holes of the pump and receiver with special caps.
- The position of the high pressure pump relative to the valve mechanism does not affect its operation.
Attention:
- Collect and dispose of leaking fuel.
- Observe the applicable national disposal regulations.
1. Turn off the ignition.
2. The structure of the Common Rail system.
3. Remove the intake manifold.

4. Disconnect the connector (1) from the high pressure pump pressure regulator.
5. Loosen the clamp (2).
6. Disconnect the fuel supply line to the high pressure pump.
Note: When installing, it is necessary to replace the clamp (2).
7. Disconnect the fuel return line (3) from the high pressure pump, (hollow bolt).
Note: When installing, it is necessary to replace the hollow bolt seal.
Tightening torque: 25 Nm.
8. Unscrew the union nut (4) on the high-pressure pump and the union nut on the receiver using tool 135020.
9. Remove the high pressure line.
Tightening torque: 23 Nm.
Note: Pay attention to the correct installation of the high pressure pipeline rubber cushion.

10. Loosen the nuts (1) securing the high pressure pump.

11. Remove the alternator ribbed V-belt from the tension roller.
12. Unscrew the threaded plug (1).
Tightening torque:
- M30 x 1:70 Nm.
- M40 x 1.5: 30 Nm.
Note: When installing, it is necessary to replace the sealing ring.

13. Loosen the nut (1) securing the high-pressure pump drive sprocket.
Tightening torque: 65 Nm.

14. Screw tool 135192 into the timing belt cover from the front.

15. Screw tool 135191 without the ejector bolt (1) into the high-pressure pump sprocket.
16. After this, screw in the ejector bolt (1) until it fits tightly.

17. Tighten the push-out bolt (1) until the high pressure pump is separated from the sprocket.
18. Remove the high pressure pump.
Attention:
- To fix the sprocket, device 13590 must be left in the timing block and must not be removed under any circumstances!
- To install the high pressure pump, unscrew the push-out bolt (1).

Note:
- When installing, it is necessary to replace the sealing gasket (1).
- Pay attention to the correct position of the sealing gasket (1).
- The surfaces to be sealed must be dry and free from grease.
19. Installation should be carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the above notes.
20. Turn on the ignition for about 1 minute.
Note: During this time, the fuel pump is activated and the fuel system is filled with fuel, displacing air.
