Removal and installation the transfer case (ATC400/500XDRIVE) assembled
Attention: After replacement, use the GT 1 service function "Repair".
Attention:
- After completing the work, check the oil level and top up if necessary.
- The oil level is at the edge of the filler neck plug (1).
- Use only recommended grades of transmission oil.
- Failure to comply with this rule will result in serious damage to the transfer case.
1. Completely remove the exhaust system.
2. Remove the heat-insulating screen.
3. Remove the screws.
Tightening torque: 40 Nm + 45°.
4. Disconnect the front propeller shaft from the transfer case flange, move it to the side and tie it up.
5. Disconnect the propeller shaft from the gearbox.
6. Unscrew the intermediate support.
7. Move the cardan shaft to the side and tie it up.
8. Support the gearbox using tools 234050, 230132 and 002030.
9. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the gearbox mounting cross beam.
Tightening torque:
- M12: 74 Nm.
- M8: 21 Nm.
10. Disconnect connectors (1) and (2) from the servo motor.
11. Remove the transfer case mounting screws.
Tightening torque: 43 Nm.
12. Remove the transfer case.
Note:
- When installing, pay attention to the centering pin (1).
- Lubricate the centering pin (1).
- Lightly lubricate the ring gear. Lubricant: WEICON ANTI-SEIZE.
13. Installation should be carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the above notes.
