Unlock and disconnect the shock absorber (1, Fig. 5.187) left exhaust camshaft position sensor. Release the cable from the holder. Unscrew the sensor mounting bolt on the engine cylinder head. Remove the left exhaust camshaft position pulse sensor.

When installing the sensor, check the sealing ring for possible damage and replace it if necessary. To facilitate sliding, lubricate the sealing ring with technical petroleum jelly.
After replacing the crankshaft position sensor, it is necessary to read the fault information from the memory of the ECU-KSUD of the "DME" system. Eliminate the faults and erase the fault information from the memory of the memory.
The right exhaust camshaft position sensor on cylinder bank 1–4 is located on the cylinder head and should be replaced in the same way as the left exhaust camshaft position sensor on cylinder bank 5–8.
