Replacing the oil pressure sensor (BMW X5 E53)

            0

The oil pressure indicator sensor is installed on the head of the 1-4 cylinder block, front right. It must be replaced in the following order. Turn off the ignition and remove the air filter housing.

Note: When removing the pressure sensor, a small amount of oil will leak out. Prepare a rag to collect it.

Prepare a clean rag to collect the leaking oil. Unlock and disconnect the SS. Unscrew the oil pressure indicator sensor (2, Fig. 5.191).

When installing, replace the gasket, tighten the oil pressure indicator sensor to a torque of 27 N·m (2.7 kgf·m), while first lubricating its threads.

Place the car on a horizontal platform, start the engine and let it idle until the oil pressure indicator goes out. Turn off the engine and let it sit for 5–7 minutes. Check the engine oil level and restore it if necessary.
