Replacing the exhaust gas aftertreatment system air blower (BMW X5 E53)

Replacing the air blower (see fig. 5.28) the exhaust gas neutralization systems must be carried out in the following order.



Loosen the right front wheel and place the vehicle on a lift. Remove the right front wheel and wheel arch cover.

Loosen the nuts (21) from the bottom of the supercharger (17). Unlock and disconnect the suction (lead-in) pipeline from the supercharger. Unlock and disconnect the pressure pipeline and the SS from the air supercharger.

Remove the holders from the supercharger and remove the air blower itself.

The supercharger should be installed in the reverse order, and the operation of the DME system should be checked after completion of the work.
