Attention! All work on the exhaust system must be performed only on a cold engine, due to the risk of getting burned.
The exhaust manifold of the N62 engine is made with a catalytic converter (see fig. 5.25). The engine has two exhaust manifolds located on its outer sides, for cylinders 1–4 and for cylinders 5–8. Work on removing and installing the left and right exhaust manifolds and replacing the oxygen concentration sensors in the exhaust gas is carried out in the same way as with the M62 engine.

All elements of the exhaust system are connected by bolted, flanged and clamp connections, so they can be replaced separately. The work is carried out in the same way as with the M62 engine.
