The design of the intake manifold - a system of pipelines for supplying air to the combustion chamber, is shown in Figure 5.20.
Removing the intake manifold must be carried out in the following order. Disconnect «negative» terminal AB. Remove the soundproof and decorative covers. Remove the central part of the heater baffle.
Remove suction hose and distribution line outlet.
At the back of the manifold, unlock and disconnect the loops on the differential pressure sensor and on the damper drive motor. Unlock and disconnect vent hose (1, fig. 5.170).
Remove the cable from the holder. Loosen intake manifold mounting bolts. Using an assistant, remove the intake manifold in an upward direction.
Close all intake manifold and cylinder head openings. The ingress of foreign bodies into the intake manifold and the head of the block can lead to engine failure.
The installation of the intake manifold should be carried out in reverse order, while it is necessary to clean the sealing surfaces on the intake manifold and the surfaces (1, fig. 5.171) on the left and right side of the cylinder heads.
Replace the left and right intake manifold gaskets. Reassemble the engine and check the intake system for leaks.
