There was no factory documentation for the different car models. The engine idle speed was adjusted by ear. In addition, if he wants to do the work correctly, he must constantly improve his technical knowledge by familiarizing himself with the factory documentation. And what is self-evident for a specialist should become a matter of course for an amateur. Even the smallest errors in adjustment can cause serious damage. Therefore, before carrying out any repair work on a BMW, it is recommended to look at this book. This is also necessary in order to assess the scope of repairs and the degree of complexity of the work before starting work.
Most threaded connections are specified with a tightening torque. When tightening some threaded connections, (cylinder head, suspension joints, etc.) it is imperative to use a torque wrench.
