If the brake caliper and caliper are only disconnected to remove the brake disc, do not disconnect the brake hose. Otherwise, air must be removed from the brake system after installation. Hang the caliper on a wire from the suspension so that the hose is not twisted and is not under tension.
Withdrawal
1. Mark with paint the position of the corresponding front wheel relative to the hub. This will allow the assembly to install the balanced wheel in its original position. Loosen the wheel bolts with the vehicle on the ground. Raise the front of the car, put it on stands and remove the front wheel.
2. Lightly press the brake pedal and hold it in that position. To do this, you can insert a wooden block between the seat and the pedal. To do this, move the seat back and then forward again. Thus, the possibility of leakage of brake fluid from the reservoir after the hoses are disconnected and air enters the system is excluded.
3. Disconnect the pipeline from the coupling (arrows in the illustration), otherwise it is not possible to disconnect the brake hose at the caliper.
Some brake fluid may leak out. Collect it in a bottle that should only be for brake fluid.
4. Disconnect the connector for the wear indicator at the left caliper -1-. Do not pull on the cable while doing this.
5. Turn out bolts of fastening - 1 - brackets of a brake and remove bracket with a support and the inserted brake pads.
Installation
1. Measure the thickness of the brake disc, refer to Section Measuring the thickness of the brake disc.
2. Replace brake caliper with caliper and pads inserted.
If the brake hose is attached, make sure that it is not twisted or under tension. Check the freedom of movement of the brake hose when the steering wheel is fully shifted.
3. Fix the brake calliper with lightly lubricated bolts to a torque of 110 Nm.
4. Connect the wear sensor connector on the left side of the vehicle at the brake shoe. The wire must be routed through the loop of the bleed valve cap
5. Set the car wheels straight. Install the brake hose at the connection holder and secure the hose with the union nut. When doing this, make sure that the hose is not twisted. Check the freedom of movement of the hose when the steering wheel is fully shifted.
6. Remove air from the brake system, refer to Section Removal of air from the brake system.
7. Reinstall the front wheels so that the marks made during removal match. Lubricate the seat of the wheel disk on the hub with a thin layer of bearing grease. Do not grease wheel bolts. Replace rusty bolts with new ones. Fasten the wheels with bolts. Lower the car on wheels and tighten bolts of fastening crosswise the moment of 100 Нм.
8. Turn the steering wheel to the right and left as far as it will go and check if the brake hose follows all the movements of the wheel with the car standing on the wheels.
Press the brake pedal hard several times while standing until you feel resistance. Thus, the brake pads take their working position at the brake disc.
9. Check up level of a brake liquid in the tank, if necessary add a liquid to a mark MAX.
- Are the brake lines secured?
- Is the brake hose secured in the holder?
- Are the bleed fittings tight?
- Has sufficient brake fluid been added?
- With the engine running, check for leaks. To do this, press the brake pedal with a force of 200–300 N (20–30 kg) within 10 s. The pedal must not loosen. Check all connections for tightness.
Brake fluid must never be spilled or disposed of with household waste. Local authorities inform drivers about the places of its possible disposal.
