Cuff input shaft
1. Remove the gearbox (see paragraph 7) and do the following.
2. Remove the clutch release bearing and fork (see chapter 6).
3. Turn out bolts of fastening and remove a forward cover of a transmission with the directing plug of a release bearing (pic. 5.3).
4. Remember the depth of the cuff of the input shaft in the gearbox housing.
5. Drill a small hole in the cuff (cuff has two holes located on opposite sides). Lubricate the drill to prevent chips from entering the gearbox (pic. 5.5).
6. Using a thin punch, press the edge of the cuff opposite to the drilled hole as much as possible.
7. Screw a thin self-tapping screw into the hole and remove the cuff using pliers (pic. 5.7).
8. Clear a landing surface of a transmission.
9. Lubricate the lip of the new seal with gearbox oil, then carefully slide the seal onto the input shaft and press it into the gearbox housing.
10. Press the cuff to the same depth at which the old cuff was located
11. Establish a cover of a transmission with the directing plug and reliably tighten bolts of its fastening. Lubricate the threads of the bolts with a compound that prevents spontaneous loosening.
12. Install the fork and clutch release bearing (see chapter 6).
13. Install the gearbox (see paragraph 7), then check the oil level in it (see paragraph 2).
Output shaft collar
Note. When installing, you will need the composition of the day to prevent spontaneous loosening of the nuts.
14. Raise the car and put it on stands (cm. "Lifting and placing the car on supports").
15. Disconnect the cardan shaft from the gearbox flange and secure it with wire to the side (see chapter 8).
16. Using a screwdriver, remove the cover from the gearbox output flange nut (if it exists). Throw away the case as you won't need it anymore. If necessary (for easier access) place a support under the gearbox and remove the rear support of the gearbox.
17. While holding the flange from turning, unscrew the flange fastening nut using a socket wrench and an extension (pic. 5.17).
18. Using a puller, remove the flange from the output shaft (pic. 5.18). Prepare for an oil leak.
19. Remember the depth of the cuff in the gearbox housing and remove the cuff (pic. 5.19). Be careful not to damage the output shaft.
20. Clean the cuff seat.
21. Lubricate the edge of the new seal, then carefully press it into the gearbox housing to the same depth (pic. 5.21).
22. Slide the flange onto the output shaft.
Note. To facilitate installation of the flange, soak it in hot water for a few minutes, then slide it onto the shaft.
23. Tighten the flange nut to 1st stage torque (cm. "Technical data"), then loosen the nut (2nd stage). Lubricate the threads of the nut with a compound that prevents spontaneous loosening. Tighten the nut to the 3rd stage torque. Hold the flange from turning.
24. If there was a cover on the flange nut, discard it. You don't need to put the cover back on.
25. Connect the cardan shaft (see chapter 8), then check the oil level in the gearbox (see paragraph 2) and lower the car to the ground.
Cuff of a shaft of a choice of transfers
Note. When installing, you will need a new gear selector shaft clevis pin.
26. Raise the car and put it on stands (cm. "Lifting and placing the car on supports").
27. Disconnect the cardan shaft from the gearbox flange and secure it with wire to the side (see chapter 8). For easier access, support the gearbox and remove the gearbox support.
28. Slide back the retaining ring, then remove the pin securing the earring to the gear selection shaft.
29. Take off the earring (along with traction) from the shaft, then disconnect the linkage from the shaft.
30. Using a thin flat screwdriver, remove the cuff from the gearbox housing.
31. Clean the seating surface, then install a new seal and press it into the gearbox using a piece of pipe of a suitable diameter (pic. 5.31).
32. Check the condition of the rubber boot of the earring and, if necessary, replace it.
33. Put the earring on the end of the shaft, then align the holes in the shaft and the earring and secure the earring with a pin.
34. Reinstall the circlip.
35. Connect the cardan shaft (see chapter 8).
36. Check the oil level in the gearbox (see paragraph 2). then lower the vehicle to the ground.
